Every 4th of February, World Cancer Day reminds us of the importance of prevention. At Sauleda, as manufacturers of high-quality technical fabrics for sun protection, we are deeply aware of the impact that prolonged, unprotected exposure to UV rays can have on health.
The sun is a source of life, but it can also become a risk if we do not take appropriate measures. One of the types of cancer most directly related to sun exposure is skin cancer, a disease that, in many cases, can be prevented with responsible habits and effective protection.
Ultraviolet radiation is particularly intense during the summer months, when we spend more time outdoors and the sun is at its strongest. That is why it is during this time of year that it is most important to reinforce sun protection habits.
Protecting yourself does not mean giving up the sun, but doing so consciously. Whether it is by applying sunscreen or sheltering under good shade, the important thing is to minimise direct exposure during the hours of highest radiation. Having effective shade, which acts as a barrier against UV rays, allows you to enjoy the outdoors even when the sun is at its strongest.
Taking care of yourself starts with simple gestures: avoiding direct exposure, using sunscreen, observing your skin, etc. These are small habits that add up and help prevent long-term risks.
Hoy no hablamos de tejidos. Hablamos de salud, de responsabilidad y de consciencia. En una jornada como esta, Día Mundial contra el Cáncer, nos sumamos al mensaje global recordando la importancia de protegerse del sol durante todo el año.
