Sustainability is no longer a trend, but one of the pillars that drives our industry. Manufacturing technical fabrics requires the consumption of resources, so every decision in our production plants is crucial to reduce the impact on our environment.
At Sauleda, sustainability is a fundamental value in our daily work. As manufacturers, we integrate environmental responsibility in each phase of the production process, without losing focus on the final quality of the product. Under the concept "Sauleda for the Planet", we materialize a commitment that is not a declaration of intentions, but our way of working.
Our measurements, one by one
Emissions Treatment
We reduce pollution levels to a minimum, through a Regenerative Thermal Oxidation system.
Renewable Energy Generation
Through our own hydroelectric power plant and biomass boilers, we avoid the use of fossil fuels.
Waste management
We manage the collection, separation and management of chemical and textile waste from the manufacturing process.
Wastewater treatment
We clean all the water used in the factory using 3 types of treatment: physicochemical, biological and activated carbon.
Containers
Containers containing chemicals and pallets are cleaned and prepared for sale or reuse.
Reduced electricity consumption
We progressively replaced all traditional factory lighting with LED bulbs.
Beyond every measure
In addition, we reuse the heat by introducing it again and again into the machinery, which allows us to optimize energy consumption and reduce it substantially. The water we return to the environment is of a higher quality than the water we extracted at the beginning, helping to regenerate the local ecosystem in our area. And our textile waste has a second life, as it is used for the production of street furniture, parks and other uses.
Commitment, also in the product
At Sauleda we also want this environmental commitment to go beyond our facilities. That is why we have in our collection the Loop fabric, the first recycled fabric for sun protection, which has 20% recycled fibers. We also have Green, the first fabric that purifies the air thanks to a photocatalysis process.
